Dobroslawa from Schlawe

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dobroslawa von Schlawe († after 1200) was a Pomeranian noblewoman from the line of the Ratiboriden , a branch line of the Greifenhaus ruling in Pomerania .

A document from the year 1200, which has been handed down in a copy from the 15th century, is issued by ego Boguslaus et soror mea Dobroslaua de Sla [u] na ("I Bogislaw and my sister Dobroslawa von Schlawe"). This is the only completely safe mention of Dobroslava. The named Bogislaw is called Bogislaw III. classified. Dobroslawa was the daughter of Bogislaw von Schlawe and granddaughter of Ratibor I.

Presumably, this Dobroslawa was identical to a Dobroslawa, which as the wife of Duke Boleslaws of Kuyavia († 1195), son of Duke Mieszkos III. , is handed down. Presumably she was married to Grimislaw , Herr von Schwetz and Libschau († after 1198), in her second marriage . The historians Robert Klempin († 1874), Oswald Balzer († 1933) and Franciszek Duda accepted one or both of these marriages; the historian Martin Wehrmann († 1937) thought it was possible, if not provable.

The year of Dobroslava's death is not known.

The Dobroslawa appearing in the document of 1200 should not be confused with the Dobroslawa from the main line of the Greifenhaus, who probably lived a little later and was named in 1226 . In contrast, in the 19th century the historian Johann Ludwig Quandt erroneously assumed that both were one and the same person.
