Omar Pouso , full name Omar Heber Pouso Osores , (born February 28, 1980 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.83 meter tall midfielder Pouso was at the beginning of his career at least from the Apertura 1999 up to and including the Apertura 2005 in the squad of the Uruguayan first division club Danubio . In 2004 he was there as team captain Uruguayan champions in the Primera División . From Clausura 2006 to Apertura 2006 he played for Club Atlético Peñarol and, depending on the sources, played in four (no goal) or 15 (one goal) matches. Then a goalless operation against Portsmouth in September 2006 at the English club Charlton Athletic will be carried out in the 2006/07 season . He had joined the club at the end of August 2006 as part of a loan. However, Pouso's engagement ended in February 2007. He then completed twelve or 14 games for Peñarol in the 2007 Clausura. His next career station was Club Libertad in Paraguay , where he was in the squad from the Paraguayan Clausura that year. With the club from Asunción he won the national championship in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. From the Apertura 2008 up to and including the Clausura 2011, 104 league games with ten goals as well as 21 games (one goal) in the Copa Libertadores and two matches (no goal) in the Copa Sudamericana will be played for him. In February 2012 he then moved to Argentina to work at Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata . There he was in the 2011/12 season in 15 (no goal) and 2012/13 in 27 games (one goal) of the Primera División on the field and played a game of the Copa Argentina . In the 2013/14 season he played 25 games (one goal) and a national cup game (no goal). On June 19, 2014, Pouso, advised by Hernán Berman, extended his contract with the Argentines for a further two and a half years until December 31, 2016. Since then (as of March 3, 2017) 22 more premier league appearances have followed (no goal). He also played in two matches (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2014 .

National team

In the Uruguayan U-23 selection, Pouso played in five international matches (no goal) at the “Torneo Preolímpico” in Brazil in 2000. Pouso was also a member of Uruguay's senior team , for which he made 15 caps from his debut on July 7, 2004 to his last appearance on February 7, 2007. His goal account shows an international match. During his time as an active national player, he took part in the 2004 Copa America with Celeste , where he finished third with the team.
