Omar Shahid Hamid

Omar Shahid Hamid (born October 23, 1977 ) is a Pakistani writer.

Life

After he had passed the entrance exam to the police, Hamid began his work in 2003 as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Karachi . He worked in Karachi's dangerous Lyari district while there was violent gang warfare. He also worked in Pakistan's Intelligence Bureau and the Anti-Terrorism Division of the Sindh Police Department .

In 2011, his name appeared on a Taliban's list of potential victims. He then emigrated to London , where he wrote three novels. In 2016 he returned to Pakistan. He got a post as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Sindh Province .
