The Islamic University of Omdurman (Arabic: جامعة أم درمان الإسلامية; English: Omdurman Islamic University ( OIU )) is an Islamic university founded in 1901 in the city of Omdurman , the largest city in Sudan and the religious center of the country. Omdurman was founded by Mahdi Muhammad Ahmad . The University is a member of the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (English: Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World; abbr .: FUIW).
