On-Base Percentage

On-Base Percentage (OBP), sometimes also called On-Base Average (OBA), is a statistic in baseball .

The statistic shows how often a batter hit one of the bases if there was no Error , Fielders Choice , Uncaught Third Strike , Fielder's Obstruction or Catcher's Interference .

This value is calculated using the formula:

With:

• H = hits
• BB = Bases on Balls
• HBP = hits by pitch
• AB = At-Bats
• SF = Sacrifice Fly
