Ondrej Drescher (* 1977 in Wolfen ) is a German contemporary painter .

Life

He grew up in Torgau and passed his Abitur there. From 1998 to 2008 he attended the Academy for Graphics and Book Art in Leipzig . From 1998 to 2005 he was in the painting class with Arno Rink , and from 2005 to 2008 he was a master student with Neo Rauch . Since 2008 he has been living as a freelance painter in Leipzig and Berlin. In 2010 he was enrolled for a second degree in veterinary medicine at the Free University of Berlin .

During his studies at the HGB Leipzig , he dealt intensively with the anatomy under the guidance of Ingo Garschke, from which a participation in a sperm whale recovery and its skeleton recovery, as well as the plaster cast of a muscle dog with the cooperation of the chief taxidermist Mr. Uwe Lippmann (the veterinarian Institutes Leipzig) grew.

The high mountains are part of the experience space that finds an intense echo in Ondrej Drescher's artistic work. He has already traveled to numerous high mountains around the world. In 2008 he stayed in the Andes for twelve weeks to do experiments on the Aconcagua and Monte Pissis. A winter ascent of the Stüdelgrat and the Hintergrat are part of his horizon of experience, like the classic ascent of Mont Blanc. In many weeks Ondrej Drescher crossed the Alps on foot from north to south and from east to west.

He is a founding member of the Leipziger Wandergruppe (also Härrengruppe), which was founded by Leipzig artists in 2005 and which has set itself the goal of hiking all of the German low mountain ranges and creating a diary. The Leipzig hiking group presented itself for the first time in 2006 with a group exhibition in the Galerie Hübner in Frankfurt am Main.
