Ontario Film Review Board

The Ontario Film Review Board (OFRB) is an authority in the Canadian province of Ontario that is responsible for age ratings . Only films are rated; the American Entertainment Software Rating Board is responsible for video games .

The age ratings in Canada are generally set locally in the provinces . The OFRB is responsible for feature films and DVDs for Ontario, but cinema and DVD approvals may vary for a single film. The OFRB is not responsible for TV, but the Canadian Radio-Television Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).

Approvals

  • G (Suitable for All) - approved for all age groups.
  • PG (Parental Guidance Advised) - The medium contains scenes that may not be suitable for younger children. Advice from the parents (discussions after watching, etc.) is therefore considered useful.
