Oorderen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Oorderen is a former village near Antwerp in Belgium .

Oorderen was first mentioned in 1116. In 1927 the municipality was incorporated into Antwerp. From 1965 the place had to give way to the port expansion of Antwerp. Today, on the one hand, the Opel factory in Antwerp is located on the site of Oorderens , and another part was built over by the railway facilities in the north of Antwerp.

Oorderen, like Wilmarsdonk , Oosterweel and Lillo, is one of the towns that had to give way to the port of Antwerp.
