Raumünzach is a residential area in the municipality of Forbach in the northern Black Forest , which was founded in 1775 by forest workers. The settlement with around 30 residents is located on the B 462 and the junction of the L  83 to Hundsbach and the Schwarzenbachtalsperre as well as at the mouth of the mountain stream of the same name in the Murg .

The place lies in the narrow, rocky valley floor of the Murg and the Raumünzach that flows into it. It is named for the Raumünzach granite of the northern Black Forest granite massif , which is mined here in a quarry of the VSG-Schwarzwald-Granit-Werk company. A few hundred meters up the valley on the L 83, a group of houses forms the Raumünzach settlement . Above the village lies the former Raumünzach waterfall of the Schwarzenbach at its confluence with the Raumünzach. It almost dried out from the Schwarzenbachtalsperre due to dehydration for the Rudolf-Fettweis-Werk . Both streams and the Murg were previously used for wood drift . Below the waterfall is a hydropower plant belonging to the Rudolf Fettweis plant .

Raumünzach has a train station on the Murgtalbahn . After the abandonment in the 1980s, the track system was dismantled and an antique shop moved into the former station building. A little below this, a train station was built again in 2003 when the line was rebuilt for the operation of the Karlsruhe Stadtbahn . From there, hikers can reach Hundsbach, Forbach or the Schwarzenbach reservoir, the concrete dam of which was clad with Raumünzach granite. The Tour de Murg cycle path also runs through the town . A scout center is located in the former school building . The Hotel Wasserfall is no longer in operation.
