Open Publication License

The Open Publication License (OPL) is a free license for documents.

It is similar to the GNU Free Documentation License (GNU FDL or GFDL) that was previously used by Wikipedia . The OPL allows the modification and distribution of documents, in whole or in part, as long as the authors are named and the reference to the OPL is retained. The license is no longer maintained and the inventors of the license recommend using the Creative Commons licenses instead.

The “sister license ” of the OPL is the OCL ( Open Content License ), which is more intended for programs and the like (similar to the GNU General Public License ). Both licenses were developed by the Open Content project.
