The Open Dynamics Engine ( ODE ) is a free C / C ++ - library that for simulating the body dynamics in the virtual reality is used.

The physics engine is considered to be fast, powerful, robust and flexible and has an integrated collision query . It is being (further) developed by Russell Smith and a number of companies. Thanks to the BSD license (optionally also available under LGPL ) it is used by many games and commercial closed-source programs. Examples of commercial programs are 18 Wheels of Steel: Full Speed , BloodRayne 2 , Call of Juarez ( Ubisoft ), OMSI - The Omnibus Simulator , Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl , Titan Quest and World of Goo .
