Open Wonderland (originally Project Wonderland ) is a free Java - game engine , three-dimensional, collaborative virtual worlds to create. Features such as high-fidelity audio, text chats, the exchange of documents, but also the shared use of desktop applications are supported. Open Wonderland is fully expandable, so developers and graphic designers can easily create new worlds or add features to existing worlds.

Open Wonderland emerged from the Project Wonderland project supported by Sun Microsystems . On January 27, 2010, Sun Microsystems was acquired by Oracle and the funding of Project Wonderland ended. Since then, Project Wonderland has been continued as an independent, open-source project with a lively community under the title Open Wonderland .
