Open Yale Courses

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Open Yale Courses is an initiative of Yale University based on the OpenCourseWare concept with the aim of making introductory courses at the university available online free of charge.

The website was launched in December 2007 with seven courses from various faculties, supported by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation .

Some of the lectures contain copyrighted material that Yale cannot distribute over the Internet. Therefore, some videos were cut or parts were blackened.

There are currently 42 courses from almost all traditional fields of study. At the end of 2010, many new courses were added that cover the entire spectrum of the arts, human, social and natural sciences.
