Ophion (father of Amykos)
Ophion ( Greek Ὀφίων ) is a figure from Greek mythology .
The poet Ovid calls the Centaur Amykos an Ophionid , a descendant of Ophion. It is unclear whether he is identical to the giant Ophion and in what relationship he stands to the first world ruler named Ophion or Ophioneus, whose children are also known as Ophionids , who appear in some lines of tradition .
