Amykos (Centaur)
Amykos ( Greek Ἄμυκος "the mangle", Latinized Amycus ) is a figure in Greek mythology .
Amykos was a Centaur , son of Ophion . He slew the Keladon with a candlestick at the wedding of Peirithoos during the quarrel between the Lapiths and Centaurs , but was subsequently killed by Pelates .
The asteroid (55576) Amycus is named after Amykos .
