Yalaha is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County in the US state of Florida with a population of 1,364 (as of 2010).

Yalaha is on the south shore of Lake Harris and is bordered by Leesburg to the west and Howey-in-the-Hills to the east . The CDP is located about 10 km southwest of Tavares and about 50 km northwest of Orlando .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 1364 inhabitants were distributed over 563 households. The population density was 84.2 inh / km². 86.8% of the population identified themselves as white, 9.2% as African American , 0.2% as Native American and 1.1% as Asian Americans . 1.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.5% to several ethnic groups. 4.9% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 19.4% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 45.4% of all households. 71.6% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.30 people and the average family size was 2.69 people.

17.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 13.0% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 37.7% were at least 60 years old.
