Lake Kathryn is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County in the US state of Florida with 920 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Lake Kathryn is bordered by the Ocala National Forest to the north and Lake Tracy to the south . The CDP is located about 35 km northeast of Tavares and about 70 km north of Orlando . Apart from County Road 42 there are no major roads.

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 920 inhabitants were distributed over 474 households. The population density was 126 inhabitants / km². 96.4% of the population identified themselves as whites, 1.0% as Indians and 0.4% as Asian Americans . 0.7% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.7% to several ethnic groups. 5.2% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 30.9% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 27.8% of all households. 66.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.58 and the average family size was 3.04.

24.9% of the population were younger than 20 years, 23.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.8% were 40 to 59 years old, and 19.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 41 years. 51.6% of the population were male and 48.4% were female.

The median annual income was $ 25,083, with 35.6% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 100% of the population.
