Lady Lake is a city in Lake County in the US state of Florida with 13,926 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Lady Lake borders Fruitland Park to the south . The city is about 25 km northwest of Tavares and about 70 km northwest of Orlando .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 13,926 inhabitants were distributed over 8,273 households. The population density was 814.4 inh / km². 90.8% of the population identified themselves as whites, 5.1% as African-Americans , 0.4% as Indians and 1.1% as Asian Americans . 1.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.3% to several ethnic groups. 4.3% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 and 67.2% of all households lived in 11.5% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 57.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 1.89 people and the average family size was 2.39 people.

12.3% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 12.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 15.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 60.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 67 years. 45.7% of the population were male and 54.3% were female.

The median annual income was $ 37,622, with 14.3% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 95.83% of the population, 1.77% spoke Spanish and 2.30% spoke another language.

On September 8, 2014, the Dyches House was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .

Lady Lake is traversed by US Highway 441 ( SR 25 ). The nearest airport is Orlando Sanford International Airport (approximately 80 km east).

The crime rate in 2010 was 204 points (US average: 266 points) in the average range. There were seven rapes, two robberies, 41 assaults, 61 break-ins, 250 thefts, 30 car thefts and one arson.
