Fruitland Park is a city in Lake County in the US state of Florida with 4078 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Fruitland Park is about 20 km west of Tavares and about 70 km northwest of Orlando . It is bordered by Leesburg to the south and Lady Lake to the north . Fruitland Park is on the western shore of Lake Griffin. The state park of the same name is also located here .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 4078 inhabitants at that time were distributed among 1644 households. The population density was 536.6 inh / km². 84.7% of the population identified themselves as white, 9.4% as African-American , 0.2% as Native American and 1.5% as Asian Americans . 2.1% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.1% to several ethnic groups. 7.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 22.7% of all households lived in 42.2% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 73.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.76 people and the average family size was 3.17 people.
30.5% of the population were younger than 20 years, 26.2% were 20 to 39 years old, 28.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 15.4% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 35 years. 48.0% of the population were male and 52.0% were female.
The median annual income was $ 55,521, with 14.4% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 96.79% of the population, 2.53% spoke Spanish and 0.68% spoke German .

On December 27, 1974, the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .
