Mount Plymouth is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County in the US state of Florida with 4011 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Mount Plymouth is about 15 km east of Tavares and about 30 km north of Orlando . The CDP is crossed by 46 Florida State Road .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 4011 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 1683 households. The population density was 557.1 inh / km². 88.3% of the population identified themselves as whites , 5.1% as African American , 0.9% as Indians and 0.6% as Asian Americans . 2.8% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 9.4% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010, children under the age of 18 lived in 35.0% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 22.5% of all households. 72.5% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.60 people and the average family size was 2.98 people.

25.6% of the population were younger than 20 years, 27.7% were 20 to 39 years old, 31.7% were 40 to 59 years old, and 18.1% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 50.0% of the population were male and 50.0% were female.

In 2000, English was the first language of 97.22% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 2.78%.
