Silver Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Lake County in the US state of Florida with 1879 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Silver Lake is about 10 km west of Tavares and about 60 km northwest of Orlando . The CDP is affected by US Highway 441 .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 1,879 inhabitants were distributed over 943 households. The population density was 298.3 inh / km². 88.3% of the population identified themselves as whites, 5.3% as African American , 0.2% as Indians and 3.3% as Asian Americans . 1.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.2% to several ethnic groups. 3.9% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 24.0% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 33.1% of all households. 69.2% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.34 people and the average family size was 2.78 people.
21.9% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 17.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 28.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 49 years. 48.7% of the population were male and 51.3% were female.
