Montverde is a city in Lake County in the US state of Florida with 1,463 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Montverde is located on the southwestern shore of Lake Apopka . The city is located around 25 km south of Tavares and west of Orlando .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 1463 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 634 households. The population density was 356.8 inh / km². 92.5% of the population identified themselves as whites, 2.1% as African American , 0.4% as Indians and 1.4% as Asian Americans . 1.4% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.2% to several ethnic groups. 10.7% of the population were Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 34.4% of all households and persons aged at least 65 in 23.5% of all households. 78.3% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.66 and the average family size was 2.97.

24.2% of the population were younger than 20 years, 21.6% were 20 to 39 years old, 35.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 18.5% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 42 years. 51.1% of the population were male and 48.9% were female.

The median annual income was $ 66,250, with 5.2% of the population living below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the first language of 98.77% of the population and 1.23% spoke Spanish .

On September 15, 2004, Harper House was inscribed on the National Register of Historic Places .
