Hermann Stadtmann

Hermann Stadtmann (born July 26, 1818 in Grüningen , † March 14, 1864 in Wetzikon ) was a Swiss politician and businessman . From 1849 to 1862 he was a member of the National Council.

Stadtmann came from a wealthy family of the rural upper class and was the son of a councilor in Grüningen. He graduated from high school in Zurich and studied law at the University of Zurich . The member of the Zofingia worked in Glattfelden as a director of a spinning mill , as well as a district judge and as a treasurer and administrator of the savings bank of the Hinwil district . From 1847 until his death, Stadtmann was a member of the Zurich Cantonal Council . In 1849 he moved to the National Council by a by-election in the Zurich-South constituency , and resigned 13 years later.
