Optimized Systems Software

Optimized Systems Software ( OSS ) was an American software manufacturer. The company was founded in Cupertino , California in 1981 by Bill Wilkinson and Mike Peters. The original Atari BASIC and Atari DOS were bought from Shepardson Microsystems, Inc. (SMI) . The products were subsequently improved and sold under the new names OS / A + and BASIC A +.

At the beginning of 1988 OSS merged with ICD , Inc. In 1994 Fine Tooned Engineering (FTe) finally took over the rights to the 8-bit products such as the MAC / 65.
