Oral Oncology , Oral for short . Oncol. , is a scientific journal published by Elsevier-Verlag. The journal is based on the European Journal of Cancer, founded in 1965 . A sub-series was set up there in 1992 under the title European Journal of Cancer B, Oral Oncology . In 1997 the title was shortened to Oral Oncology . The journal is the official publication organ of the European Association of Oral Medicine , the International Association of Oral Pathologists, and the International Academy of Oral Oncology ; it is published twelve times a year. Papers are published that deal with all aspects of malignant diseases in the head and neck.

The impact factor in 2015 was 4.296. According to the statistics of the ISI Web of Knowledge , the journal with this impact factor ranks sixth out of 87 journals in the dentistry & maxillofacial surgery category and 52nd out of 213 journals in the oncology category.
