Orange Bicycle
Orange Bicycle was the name of an English pop - band .
history
The group existed from 1967 to 1971. In their music style they combined elements of the Beatles , the Rolling Stones , but also the hippie scene with psychedelic elements. The line-up of the band consisted of
- John Bachini
- Kevin Curry
- Bernie Lee
- Wilson Malone and
- RJ Scales.
Right at the start of their career, Orange Bicycle had a number 1 hit with Hyacinth Threads , but not in their home country, but in France . The record also sold reasonably well in other European countries, but did not make it into the charts in Great Britain itself . The same was true for the follow-up single Laura's Garden . In 1968 the band switched to covering tracks by other groups, such as Sing This All Together by the Rolling Stones. The album Orange Bicycle (1970) also contained numerous cover versions a . a. by the Beatles, Elton John and Bob Dylan . Still, the band never made their big break, and in 1971 they broke up. At that time Malone was already a member of the band Fickle Pickle, which was particularly successful in the Netherlands .
