Order of Honor

The Order of Honor ( Russian орден Почёта ) is a state award of Russia . The award was donated on March 2, 1994 by Ukas No. 442 of the President of the Russian Federation and is regarded as the successor to the badge of honor of the Soviet Union .

Award criteria

According to the statute, the award is given to people who have made special merits in business, research, social and charitable activities, in the training of highly qualified personnel or in the training of the young generation, in sport and in the upholding of law and Order. The medal can also be awarded to foreigners who have made special merits in promoting bilateral relations with Russia.

Description of the order

The silver enamelled medal shows the coat of arms of the Russian Federation in its center, surrounded by a laurel wreath and set in an octagonal blue cross. On the back is the serial number of the order in question. The ribbon is blue with a white stripe.

Bearer of the order in German-speaking countries

The award was presented in October 2012 to Matthias Warnig , Managing Director of the German-Russian gas pipeline consortium Nord Stream AG . In June 2013 the entrepreneur Heinrich Weiss received the Order of Honor. Was in 2002 Eduard von Falz-Fein the award has been bestowed.
