The Order of the Republic ( cs: Řád republiky ) was one of the highest honors in Czechoslovakia and was created by government decree 30/1951 of April 3, 1951.

The order existed in several variants and was basically awarded by the President to individuals such as collectives (including communities, etc.). This medal was intended to honor extraordinary achievements for the construction of Czechoslovakia, in particular in the areas of peaceful increase in economic production, activities in politics, culture and science as well as national defense.

According to the records of the Presidential Office, the Order of the Republic was awarded a total of 862 times during its existence from 1951 to 1990.
