Order of the white lady in the green shield

The order of the white lady in the green shield ( Ordre de l'ecu verd a la dame blancha ) was a French knightly order .

The founder was Marshal Bouciault in 1399. King Charles VI. gave his consent to this. The purpose of the order was to protect women and honor them. The order was limited to twelve members.

The medal was a gold, green enameled shield with a portrait of a white woman on her left arm.
