Order of the Armored Arm

The Order of the Armored Arm , also known as the Sword Society , was a Danish knightly order .

Stifter was Christian IV. The occasion was the award of Honored Sweden war . The order was merged into the Danish Elephant Order in 1616 . 1660 was by Friedrich III. the order detached from the great order. About 20 awards for knights followed immediately afterwards, but then its existence can no longer be proven.

Order decoration

The sign of the order was a golden arm in armor, swinging a sword on a golden chain. This decoration was worn on the chest.
