Order is a Norwegian death and black metal band from Oslo that was founded in 2013.

history

The band was founded in June 2013 and consisted of the drummer Kjetil Esten Haraldsson Manheim, the singer Eirik “Billy” “Messiah” Norheim, the guitarist Anders Odden and the bassist René Jansen. After the latter died on December 3, 2014, Stig "Stu Manx" Amundsen was added as a replacement. In 2016 the band could be seen at the Inferno Metal Festival Norway . The following year, the debut album Lex Amentiae appeared on Listenable Records .

style

In an interview with Sebastian Schilling from Rock Hard , the drummer Manheim stated that Lex Amentiae is, so to speak, a concept album that deals with the state of the world, which would be determined by insane rulers and ideas. The song Torquemada is named after the inquisitor Tomás de Torquemada and was written to commemorate the past crimes of religions. Prophet was about self-proclaimed prophets who imagined hearing voices and speaking to God, and whom people would then follow and found a religion. Dugma, on the other hand, is an attack on religious ideologies and Folly Grandeur thematizes dogmatic slave religions that oppress people and hinder social development. Order was a comment on the relationship between leaders and the sheep that they would rule over. Messiah criticizes corrupt heads of state. According to Schilling, the album is reminiscent of early Black Metal in the style of Celtic Frost and Venom , but also uses modern influences. Andreas Schiffmann wrote in his album review in the same issue that an “abysmal monotony” and a “quite authentic gloom in the sense of early Black Metal of the second wave” can be heard. However, no song manages to leave a lasting impression. Schilling also reviewed the album and found a couple of songs memorable. On the album, the band tries to "dress the stylistic devices of the second wave of Black Metal in a modern garb". In his review for Lex Amentiae Alucard presented by hell-is-open.de found that then an aggressive mix of death and black metal is included with the tape to the permanent use of blast beats , as well as "any blind circus magic and mainstream ambitions “Renounce. Occasionally one also makes use of chanting .
