Effects observed

Oregon Hill is believed to be a paranormal spot in Gold Hill, Oregon that is believed to break the normal laws of physics. It is reported that within the Oregon Vortex a person assumes a position that points in the direction of the magnetic north pole and is therefore not perpendicular. Contrary to the laws of perspective , there another person facing towards the magnetic south appears taller. As they approach towards magnetic north, they look shorter. Balls should roll upwards and brooms should stand on the handle. Some people are even said to find relief for their back pain there. The effects are said to be strongest at the full moon .

Explanations of the effects

The Oregon Vortex is well known in and around the Pacific Northwest . These supposedly paranormal places have names such as Haunted Hill , Magnetic Hill , or Antigravity Hill , which in local customs describes the supposedly unusual properties of the area as mysteries , i.e. supernatural. As the names suggest, these areas are usually found in the hill country, which suggests to the skeptic that the actual effect experienced is due to an optical illusion created by the gently sloping ground and that of the eye, especially there where no distant horizon is visible as an indication, it is interpreted as horizontal. The phenomenon also occurs in other mountains. For example, some people in the European Alpine region believe in the existence of magnetic mountains with balls rolling upwards.
