Organum orobasale

The organum orobasale ("oral floor organ ") is a formation on the floor of the oral cavity in many mammals . The organ is also called Ackerknecht organ after the first person to describe it, Eberhard Ackerknecht .

The Organum orobasale consists on both sides directly from a small hole behind the central incisors (I 1 ) of which epithelial or hoses in the intrinsic layer of the oral mucosa drag. It is probably a rudimentary gland .
