Orljonok ( Russian Орлёнок , German: eagle cub) is a Russian children's center on the northeastern Black Sea coast from the Soviet era . It is visited annually by around 20,000 children from all regions of Russia as well as from Germany , Belarus , Kazakhstan and other countries. It is located 45 km away from the city of Tuapse in the Krasnodar District and is located directly on the sea.
history
On April 15, 1959, the Ministry of Health approved the construction of the children's holiday camp. This was opened on July 12, 1960 and the first 45-day event began with 520 children from 37 regions. Today up to 3,500 children can enjoy their stay in Orljonok for 21 days every summer.
