Ornalyzer

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ornalyzer is an ornithological field data acquisition program for the decentralized acquisition and evaluation of avifaunistic data. The input and evaluation of the data takes place online so that time-consuming paperwork is no longer necessary and the individual observer is responsible for maintaining his or her data. The flexible system enables the participation of an unlimited number of observers and thus creates the possibility of collecting far more avifaunistic data than is possible using conventional methods.

The term ornalyzer is an artificial word and is made up of the terms ornithology and analyzer and is protected by trademark law.

The program was awarded the muna 2004 by the German Federal Environment Foundation (DBU) and the Second German Television (ZDF) because of its exemplary character for modern environmental and nature conservation . Use is recommended by the Naturschutzbund Deutschland (NABU).
