Orplid (nudist)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Orplid is the name of several nudist clubs in Germany that belong to the DFK . The name goes back to Eduard Mörike's poem Gesang Weylas , where he describes a fictional, mystical island that is deified by its unspoilt nature:

You are Orplid , my country!
The distant shines;
your sunlit beach steams from the sea
the mist so moistens the cheek of the gods.
Ancient waters rise
rejuvenated around your waist, child!
Bow down to your deity
kings who are your keepers.

The nudist movement has had a nature-loving attitude since it was founded. The name Orplid expresses the longing for a life in harmony with nature, as well as the return to paradise at the beginning of humanity. The clubs therefore created "paradisiacal" club grounds in order to realize this ideal.
