Albrecht Wellmer
Albrecht Wellmer (born July 9, 1933 in Bergkirchen ; † September 13, 2018 in Berlin ) was a German philosopher .
biography
In 1953 Wellmer graduated from high school in Minden . Studies of mathematics and physics (at times music) in Berlin and Kiel (1954–1961) he completed in 1961 with the state examination (mathematics and physics) at the University of Kiel .
From 1961 to 1966 he studied philosophy and sociology in Heidelberg and Frankfurt am Main , where he studied philosophy in 1966 with the dissertation methodology as epistemology. Karl Poppers received his doctorate on science . In the years 1966–1970 Albrecht Wellmer was Jürgen Habermas's assistant at the Philosophical Department of the University of Frankfurt . 1971 followed the habilitation (philosophy) at the University of Frankfurt with the writing explanation and causality. Criticism of the Hempel-Oppenheim model of the declaration.
Albrecht Wellmer worked as Associate Professor in the 1970s at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (member of the Graduate Faculty of the University of Toronto , 1970–1972) and at the New School for Social Research in New York (1972–1975). During the same period from 1973 to 1974 he worked at the Max Planck Institute for research into the living conditions of the scientific and technical world in Starnberg.
From 1974 to 1990 Albrecht Wellmer was Full Professor of Philosophy at the University of Konstanz , from 1985 to 1987 Professor at the New School for Social Research in New York and since 1990 Full Professor of Philosophy (Chair for Aesthetics, Hermeneutics and Human Sciences) at the Free University of Berlin ; Professor emeritus since September 2001.
Visiting professorships: Haverford (USA), Stony Brook (USA), Collège international de philosophie (Paris, 1988), New School for Social Research (New York, 1995), Universiteit van Amsterdam (1996).
