Ortenberg is a statistical district of the central Hessian university town of Marburg .

The Ortenberg district stretches east of the railway line and the Lahn runs north-south at the foot of the Lahnberge . The development took place in the 1920s. The area used to belong to the German Order . Since many expellees from Alsace , which fell to France, settled in Ortenberg after the Second World War , parts of Ortenberg were also called Elsasshausen.

The key figure for the district in the eastern core city is 233. The district has 3151 inhabitants and is characterized as a residential district with mostly single and two-family houses. In Ortenberg there is a dental clinic, the Tabor Protestant University , the Tabor nursing home and a kindergarten. To the west of Ortenberg is the Philosophical Faculty, the Center for Mental Health, the Clinic's Dentistry and the University Library of the Philipps University of Marburg .
