Ospino is a Venezuelan village in the state of Portuguesa, in the Llanos of Venezuela. The municipality of Ospino had about 49,228 inhabitants according to the 2011 census. The village has a few dozen schools.
The village emerged when Guanare settlers who had their lands there brought their families and workers and settled there. On August 15, 1754, Ferdinand VI gave the settlement the title of "Villa". The village suffered particularly during the Wars of Independence and the Federal War.
In 1814, after falling into the hands of the rebels, the village was retaken by the Spanish troops. There was an uprising in 1818, but it was quickly erased.
