Bassano Bresciano Observatory

The Bassano Bresciano observatory (Italian: Osservatorio Astronomico Bassano Bresciano) is an observatory near the municipality of Bassano Bresciano in the province of Brescia at an altitude of 58 m above sea level. It was officially inaugurated on April 29, 1989, but the first measurements were taken since 1983 using a small reflector telescope with a diameter of 15 cm.

The observatory is registered with the International Astronomical Union under the IAU code 565.

After a long period of research and measurement of planets and comets , the main task of the observatory today is the photometry of planets and variable stars .

Instruments

The main telescope of the observatory is a Schmidt telescope with a 42 cm mirror and a focal length of 1000 mm, which is protected by a five meter diameter dome. It has been continuously improved since it was commissioned in 1989 and can now operate completely automatically. It was connected to a Starlight HX516 CCD camera .
