The Easter Festival Tirol is an annual cultural festival that shows concerts, dance and film screenings in Innsbruck , Hall in Tirol and the surrounding area over three weeks . In 2009 the festival had over 12,000 spectators. In addition to internationally renowned artists, young musicians are also invited.

Artistic forms of expression are mainly old and new music, supplemented by dance, literature, symposia, film, performance and theater. The Easter Festival Tyrol was founded in 1989 by Maria and Gerhard Crepaz as a festival of new and old music from all epochs and cultures, which aims to promote intellectual and cultural exchange, tolerance and respect. At the beginning, the annual festival was titled “Music of Religions” and its focus, which changes every year, focuses on cultural areas (including Africa, Amazon, Asia). Since 2008, the Tyrolean Easter Festival has focused on cross-cultural mottos with reference to everyday life. B. Communication (“… speechless? | Signs”), time (“NOW | finite”), freedom (“power.free | live”) or egoism (“massive.me”).

Venues

The organization is based in Hall in Tirol; the main venues are the Hall salt warehouse and the Innsbruck Congress. In 2009 Hannah Crepaz took over the artistic direction. The sponsoring association Galerie St. Barbara also organizes u. a. the event series musik +, mehr.Wissen, music salons and the biannual organ festival.
