The house Osterstraße 12 in Hameln , the district town of the Hameln-Pyrmont district in Lower Saxony ( Germany ), is one of the most famous houses in Hamelin's old town and represents one of the most magnificent buildings of the Weser Renaissance . It is located in Osterstraße in the middle of the pedestrian zone. The building, which is protected as an architectural monument , was erected in the 1570s.

The three-story house with a roll-up gable was built for the councilor Jost Rike and completed in 1576. A three-dimensional head can be seen in a diamond-shaped opening under the top of the gable. The facade has a right-angled wall stripe pattern and a symmetrical doubling of the bulge .
