Ottó Kiss

Ottó Kiss [ ˈotːoː kiʃ ] (born October 10, 1963 in Battonya , southern Hungary) is a Hungarian writer.

Life

Kiss lives in Gyula today . He worked for a long time as an editor of a weekly newspaper and wrote for daily newspapers, and since 2000 he has worked for the literary magazine Bárka . In 1999 he drew attention to himself with the novel Szövetek ( Textile ) and has been omnipresent in Hungarian literature ever since. Many of his poems and short stories have been translated into English, German, Slovak, Bulgarian and Serbian. In 2003 his book Csillagszedő Márió (Mario, the Star Collector) was awarded the Book of the Year prize by the Hungarian Writers' Association.
