Otto Georgi

Otto Fritz Georgi Tritez (* 1890 in Valdivia ; † 1969 ) was a Chilean painter .

The son of German immigrants studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes with Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor and belongs to the artist group of the Generación del Trece . In 1926 he married the painter Elmina Moissán , with whom he traveled, worked and exhibited from then on.

In addition to oil paintings, Georgi created watercolors, pastel paintings and drawings, and he also specialized in ceramic painting and mosaic techniques. At the Exposición Oficial de Bellas Artes in Santiago he received first prizes in 1925 and 1926, and a gold medal at the Exposición Ibero-Americana in Seville in 1929. The paintings Cabeza de Vieja and Roquerío are owned by the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes .
