Otto I. von Geldern
Otto I von Geldern (* around 1194; † September 1, 1215 ) was Bishop of Utrecht .
The son of Count Otto I von Geldern was raised to the bishopric in 1212 through the influence of his relatives. At that time he was only 18 years old and had not yet reached canonical age. He was also unable to obtain the papal dispensation for this before he died three years later, in 1215. He had been provost in Xanten and seems to have done little for his diocese during his brief administration; on the contrary, by awarding tithes to his brother, the Count of Geldern, he favored his house rather than his pen.
