Otto Kästner (born August 1, 1909 in Mohlsdorf , Thuringia, † 2002 in Essen ) was a German amateur boxer .

Otto Kästner, who came from a boxer family, fought for the German featherweight championship (up to 57 kg) in 1933 and 1934, after being defeated by Josef Schleinkofer in 1932 . In 1934 he was also able to record his greatest success, victory at the European Championships in Budapest, where he won the gold medal in front of Dezsö Frigyes (Hungary) and Mieczyslaw Forlanski (Poland). On the way to the gold medal he won a. a. against Gino Bondavalli.

He married Anna Conrad, who was born on December 15, 1915, and the marriage resulted in a son.

Shortly before the Olympic Games, the boxer nominated for the 1936 Olympics had to cancel his participation due to a hand injury. His promising future as a boxer was ended by military service in Italy and in the war against the Soviet Union , from which he returned to Belgian captivity.
