Reindl belonged to the German Bundestag in its first legislative period (1949–1953). Originally elected for the Reconstruction Association (WAV), of which he was also the deputy parliamentary group leader, on December 6, 1951, he and most of the WAV MPs moved over to the German Party (DP) in protest against the re-election of Alfred Loritz as party leader. where they formed the group of the "German Party of Bavaria (DPB)" within the DP parliamentary group. After only one year, however, he left the DP again and on April 29, 1953, with Alfred Loritz, with whom he had reconciled again, Wolfgang Hedler , Günter Goetzendorff and Erich Langer, re-founded a parliamentary group of the WAV until the end of the legislative period.

After 1953 Reindl was no longer represented in the Bundestag.
