from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Otto von Hadmersleben (* before 1250, † after 1259) was the progenitor of the nobles von Hadmersleben zu Egeln.

The name of the noble von Hadmersleben is derived from the headquarters in the Hadmersleben castle on the edge of the shore . In 1250 Otto von Hadmersleben conquered the town and castle of Egeln and founded a new line of nobles from Hadmersleben zu Egeln there. According to Leuckfeld , Otto von Hadmersleben was always ready for a feud, and the monk Reinold von Marienthal called him the "devil on earth". In 1259 he and his wife Jutta von Blankenburg founded the Marienstuhl monastery in Egeln. The monastery donors are buried in front of the main altar of the monastery church.
