Our Daughter's Wedding ( ODW ) was an American synth-pop and synth-punk band from New York .

history

Before the actual formation of the band in 1980, the later members of the band Layne Rico, Keith Silva and Scott Simon were already working together in 1977 with a classic band formation consisting of electric guitar , electric bass and drums . After a one-year hiatus, the three later founding members of Our Daughter's Wedding found each other again in 1979 with a new instrumental line-up - there was a change to synthesizers - and took the first steps towards reviving their original project ODW.

In the year of its founding, the formation released the singles Nightlife and Lawnchairs, the re-release of which in 1981 - by EMI America - reached number 49 in the British music charts and number 31 in the Billboard Disco Top 80 charts. Of the following single releases, only Elevate Her managed to get to 64th place in the Billboard Disco Top 80 Chart. In 1981 the debut album Digital Cowboy hit the music trade, followed in 1982 by Moving Windows , which was reissued in 2016.

Due to the lack of success, Our Daughter's Wedding dissolved again after four years of existence in 1984.
