Oxidizer (aquarium)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the aquarium hobby the oxidizer is a device for enriching the water with oxygen . For this purpose, hydrogen peroxide is split into water and oxygen radicals in a vessel in the aquarium with the help of a catalyst .

function

Oxidators supply aquariums and garden ponds with vital oxygen without a power cable or other technology. This process happens slowly and evenly and ensures that waste products are completely broken down by the filter. The carbon dioxide required for aquatic plants is not expelled here. By positively influencing the redox potential, algae growth is inhibited and the aquarium or the garden pond becomes “cleaner” overall.
